Internews Kosova organized the screening of the documentary \u201cTraces of Discrimination\u201d<\/em>, produced with the financial support of the European Union through a grant within the Reporting Diversity Network project.<\/p>\n

On 20 February 2026, the activity was held at Reporting House with the participation of 32 attendees \u2014 22 women and 10 men \u2014 representatives of central, local and independent institutions, civil society organizations, activists, and other guests.<\/p>\n

The documentary addresses the experiences of marginalized communities in Kosovo, the challenges they face in everyday life, and the ways prejudice and discrimination affect access to services, representation, and social participation. Through personal testimonies and professional perspectives, the documentary aims to encourage public reflection and open discussion on the importance of equal treatment and inclusion.<\/p>\n

In addition, the documentary presents the institutional perspective through interviews with the Agency for Gender Equality within the Office of the Prime Minister and the independent institution of the Ombudsperson Institution.<\/p>\n

Following the screening, Internews Kosova organized a panel discussion featuring Kosovo\u2019s Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi; Ombudsperson Naim Qelaj and activist Emira Kuqani. The panelists discussed the most common forms of discrimination at local and institutional levels, existing mechanisms for the protection of human rights, and the role of institutions and civil society in preventing and addressing such cases.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, the importance of inter-institutional cooperation, raising public awareness, and the need for professional and ethical media reporting were emphasized, so that the voices of marginalized communities are represented accurately and without stereotypes. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences, turning the activity into an interactive discussion space.<\/p>\n

The aim of the activity was to encourage public debate on social justice, empower the voices of communities affected by discrimination, and contribute to improving media reporting on diversity issues.<\/p>\n
